German counsel
that understands the Mittelstand.
Owner-managed companies and international investors need more than a rotating cast of associates. BRANDT & FALK combines depth in eight practice areas with the accessibility and clear fee logic of a boutique. One fixed partner runs your mandate — from the first call to the closing.
Eight fields. Real depth in each.
We advise companies only. Every lawyer focuses on one or two practice areas — no universal firm, no lawyer for everything.
Corporate, M&A & Succession
GmbH formation, FDI screening, share and asset deals, shareholder agreements, succession in family-owned companies.
Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
Commercial litigation before German courts, DIS and international arbitration, interim relief, cross-border coordination.
Restructuring & Insolvency
StaRUG restructurings, creditor representation in German insolvencies, distressed M&A, director-liability defence.
Tax Disputes, White-Collar & Compliance
Tax audits and fiscal-court litigation, criminal tax defence, dawn raids, compliance systems for German subsidiaries.
IP, IT & Data Protection
Trademarks and unfair competition, software and SaaS contracts, GDPR compliance and defence for foreign companies in Germany.
Employment (Employers)
Hiring and dismissals in Germany, executive contracts, works councils, restructuring, posted workers — employer side only.
Commercial, Distribution & Contracts
Distribution and agency agreements, sec. 89b HGB indemnity, supply contracts, German-law standard terms for foreign companies.
Commercial Real Estate & Construction
Commercial leases, real-estate acquisitions, construction and VOB/B contracts for foreign investors and corporates in Germany.
“Depth comes from focus, not from size. We take on a mandate only if we can run it with the care it needs — and then a partner runs it personally.”
Between Big Law and the local generalist.
The gap in the German market
Large international firms are built for listed groups — high rates, changing contacts, the work delegated down the pyramid. Local generalists know their clients personally but reach their limits in complex shareholder, restructuring or tax matters. For Mittelstand companies and their foreign counterparties, a gap remains in between.
