Cross-border advice — with local partner firms.
Exporting Mittelstand companies and inbound investors need both: German legal advice from a single source, and reliable expertise abroad. For this we cooperate with independent partner law firms in more than 20 jurisdictions.
One point of contact. Local responsibility.
BRANDT & FALK is a German firm: our lawyers are admitted in Germany and advise on German and EU law. For foreign law we work with independent partner firms on the ground — firms admitted in their jurisdiction who know their markets.
For you this means: a partner at BRANDT & FALK coordinates the overall project, defines the interfaces and keeps timelines and budgets together. Local legal advice is provided by the respective partner firm in its own responsibility and under its own engagement. You receive one consolidated result instead of parallel single opinions.
Typical settings: export contract networks, commercial-agent and distribution structures abroad, cross-border M&A, international arbitration, and investments by foreign companies into Germany.
How the coordination works.
Frame the project
You describe the project to a partner at BRANDT & FALK. We separate the German from the international dimension and define what needs local review.
Involve the partner firm
For each jurisdiction concerned we propose a suitable independent partner firm. You engage it directly — transparently and without a mark-up.
Coordinate the workstreams
We bring the strands together: one timetable, aligned contracts, one consolidated recommendation. Reporting in English or German.
Own the German side
Everything that concerns German law — contracts, corporate structure, litigation, arbitration — stays with us throughout.
24 jurisdictions. Four regions.
The selection follows the most important trading and investment partners of the German Mittelstand and is extended continuously. In each jurisdiction we work with an independent local partner firm.

What the network is — and what it is not.
The partner firms are legally and economically independent. They are not branches of BRANDT & FALK, and we are not admitted to practise outside Germany. Advice on foreign law is provided exclusively by the locally admitted firm.
When selecting partner firms we look at specialisation, local admission and independent recognition — such as listings in international directories like Legal 500 or Chambers. We name the partner firm for your specific project — after checking suitability and conflicts of interest. Our role is German legal advice and the coordination of the overall project; that is what we stand for.
A cross-border project? Let's start with the structure.
Describe your project. Within one business day we will outline a sensible split between German advice and local partner firms.
